When a recording is transcribed, Vaani AI separates the different voices and labels them Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on. The labels are based on voices in the audio, not on the names in the meeting platform, so you may want to rename them.
Speaker separation works best when people speak one at a time and each person has their own microphone. Two people sharing one microphone, or people talking over each other, can be merged into one speaker.
Step by step
Open the transcript
Open the meeting in Vaani AI and go to its transcript page.
Rename each speaker
Select a speaker label and type the person's name. The new name is used throughout the transcript.
Check the minutes
Open the minutes and correct any action-item owners that still show a speaker number.
